But the challenge is that no platform in Rivers State is dedicated to helping these teenagers channel this interest to maximum use with the intent of developing a generation of tech based entrepreneurs. The educational system, especially Primary and Secondary schools, has tried to handle this challenge but there effort has a lot of setbacks. This is because some schools don’t have computers, others have computers but lack teachers that with practical experience. Teenagers are thus left with theoretical knowledge and less practical engagements. Most parents have also indicated interest in empowering their teenagers with the relevant computer skills, but no organization has programs that are specifically designed for teenagers.

TeenCoders is the 1st organization to setup COMPUTER CLUBS in primary and secondary schools in Nigeria, partnering with more than 16 schools. TeenCoders’ holiday tech camp, #CODESTUDIO, has already trained more than 500 boys and girls in PH and Lagos. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1.4 #CodeStudio AIM & OBJECTIVES Our key aim is not to make these teenagers computer programmers, but to develop their creative problem solving skills. We also aim to: • Increase the number of teenagers involved in ICT development from an early age. • Increase the number of teenagers in Math, Science, Engineering and Technology (STEM) by providing them with educational computer tools that will improve their skills and interest in the subjects. • Create a networking platform for teenagers in Computer/STEM by setting up Computer Clubs in schools and organizing Tech Camp events.
